The OREO project organised its Multiplier Event in July 2025 in Chania, Crete, hosted by PARAGON-eduTech.
During the dedicated session “Empowering AI Awareness in Higher Education – The OREO Project”, partners from Greece, Germany, Spain, and Estonia presented the project’s key outcomes and innovative approaches to promoting ethical, safe, and inclusive Artificial Intelligence education. The session was moderated by Dr. Mirela Pachou (Laboratory of Law and Informatics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and featured contributions from Despina Sarrigeorgiou (PARAGON-eduTech, Greece), Maximilian Alexander Loch and Connor Wundes (University of Münster, Germany), Rubén Vega Gutiérrez (Fundación Siglo22, Spain) with Anastasia Pyrini (PARAGON-eduTech, Greece), and Professor Mart Susi (Tallinn University, Estonia).
Invited speakers included Professor Georgios Yannopoulos (School of Law, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece), Professor Morten Flate Paulsen (Norwegian Academy of Lifelong Learning, Norway), Professor Ġorġ Mallia (University of Malta, Malta), Professor Rune Krumsvik (University of Bergen, Norway), Professor Marcie Boucouvalas (Virginia Tech, USA), Dr. Jacqui Chetty (University of Birmingham, United Kingdom), Professor Aleksander Aristovnik (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia), and Dr. Kathy Michael (Victoria University, Australia).
Their insightful contributions on AI ethics, assessment, and governance framed a rich discussion and reinforced OREO’s mission to promote responsible and inclusive AI awareness in higher education across Europe.
